The IEEE University of Minho student branch will hold a session for clarification about IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), on December 15 at 2p.m. at room B1.14 of azurem's campus, University of Minho.
This lecture is open to any student, researcher or teacher, but is mostly turned to studens of electronic engineering, comunications engineering and tecnologies of information systems.

On the 23rd October 2010, two student teams of the integrated masters in industrial electronical and computers engineering and members of the IEEE student branch of University of Minho, participated in the IEEE Xtreme.
Is a consecutive 24 hour scientific programming competition, where participated more than 900 teams around the world. The competition started at 00:00 GMT(Greenwich Meridian Time) of the 23rd of October and ended 24 hours later.
The organization is providing on his online site 16 programming challenges along the day at certain hours(unkown to participants), and participants program their solution and submiting answers, which are instantly evaluated. If they meet all the requirements, they are considered vallid answers.
Two teams participated: the 'MinDream' composed by the students Tiago Castro, Sandro Pinto and Filipe Alves, and the 'XtremeUminhoTeam' composed by the students César Meneses, Jaime Costa and Tiago Duarte.
This event has to be continuously by teachers, being present the teacher Sérgio Lopes, the teacher Filomena Santos, and the teacher Fernando Ribeiro(Counselor of IEEE student branch of University of Minho).
Without sleeping breaks, problems were being successfully solved, existing a great team and mutual spirit. after this experience there are already more candidates to participate in the next edition.

On the next friday, October 29th, will be held a lecture about automation, wich will take place throughout the day at Auditório Nobre of University of Minho, directed by various company representatives and for electronics students.
